Welcome to Tvashta Studio

What Tvashta Studio is, the 12 free tools you can use today, what we write about, and the Unreal Engine plugin we are building first.

Welcome to Tvashta Studio, a small independent game development studio building for Unreal Engine and Unity.

This site exists for one reason: to make the everyday work of making games a little faster and a lot less frustrating. Here is what you will find, and what is coming next.

Free tools you can use today

Every tool is free, works without an account, and supports both engines where they differ.

Art and textures

  • Normal Map Generator: turn a height map or texture into a normal map, in DirectX format for Unreal or OpenGL for Unity, with seamless tiling and a live lighting preview.
  • Texture Channel Packer: pack AO, roughness and metallic into an Unreal ORM texture, a Unity URP metallic map or an HDRP Mask Map, with smoothness inverted for you.
  • Sprite Sheet Packer: pack hundreds of sprites into atlases with trimming, padding and edge extrusion, exported for Unreal Paper2D and other engines.
  • Power of Two Texture Resizer: batch resize and convert textures to engine-friendly sizes.

What we write about

The blog covers:

  • Tutorials for Unreal Engine and Unity, from texture workflows to gameplay systems.
  • Game design guides with real numbers, like balancing a shop economy.
  • Devlogs from building our own plugins and games, mistakes included.
  • News about new tools and products.

What we are building first

Our first plugin is the Shopping Simulator Kit for Unreal Engine: the core systems of a shop or supermarket simulator (products, shelves, customers, checkout and economy), ready to drop into a project. You can follow it on the product page. It will be sold on Fab, and future Unity products will be on the Unity Asset Store.
