The Shopping Simulator Kit is the first plugin from Tvashta Studio. It provides the foundation every shop, store and supermarket simulator needs, so you can spend your time on the parts that make your game different: the setting, the twist, the art and the feel.
In final development. Version 1.0 is being finished and tested in a real game before release. The feature list below is the planned scope for the first version and may change before launch. Subscribe to the newsletter to hear the moment it is available on Fab.
Why build this plugin?
Shop simulators became one of Steam's most talked-about genres after Supermarket Simulator, a game started by a solo developer, went viral in Early Access. By the time it left Early Access in June 2025 it had more than 65,000 Very Positive reviews on Steam, and many store simulators have followed: electronics shops, pharmacies, bakeries, card shops, gas stations and more.
Under the surface, nearly all of them share the same systems:
- Products with prices, costs and stock
- Shelves and displays that the player fills
- Customers who walk in, look around, pick items and queue
- A checkout where the player scans items and takes payment
- An economy of daily income, expenses and upgrades
Building and debugging all of that from scratch takes weeks before your game is even fun to play. The Shopping Simulator Kit aims to give you those systems on day one.
Planned features
Products and stock
Define products as data: name, mesh, wholesale cost, sell price and category. Order stock, carry boxes and place products on shelves.
Shelves and displays
Shelves with slots that fill up visually as you stock them, so the store looks busier as the player works.
Customers
Customers that enter the store, browse, pick products from shelves, react to prices and queue at the checkout.
Checkout
A checkout flow with scanning items, a running total and taking payment.
Economy
Prices, expenses and daily profit, designed to work with the free Shop Economy Calculator so you can balance your numbers before you play-test.
How it is built
The plugin uses a hybrid C++ and Blueprint design, the same approach many professional Unreal Engine teams use:
- All gameplay logic is written in C++. Products, stock, customers, checkout and economy run in native code, which keeps them fast, reliable and easy to debug.
- UI and widgets are built in Blueprint (UMG). Menus, prices, the checkout screen and other interface elements are Blueprint widgets, so you can restyle or replace them without writing any C++.
This means you get solid, well-structured systems underneath and complete freedom over how your game looks.
Tested in a real game
Before release, the plugin is being used to build a complete shop game with custom-made 3D assets. Every bug and rough edge found along the way is fixed before version 1.0, so the problems you would hit in a real project are found first, not by you.
Who is it for?
- Solo developers and small teams who want to make a shop simulator without spending months on the basics.
- Developers prototyping a store or management idea who need something playable fast.
- Learners who want to see how these systems can be structured in Unreal Engine.
